Raven's Eye
Raven's Eye is our darkest roast yet. $1 from each pound sold is donated to the Whatcom Humane Society, specifically to benefit their Wildlife Rehabilitation Services Department. Expect this coffee to deliver a full body of deep rich chocolate notes and low acidity with soft fruit sweetness. This blend is derived from Indonesian, Central American and South American coffees.

I drink it black, 3-4 cups a day. I see that I've ordered it almost 30 times, so I finally have enough experience to discuss this good bean. There is much to love about this dark blend. 1) It is dark. 2) It has hints of chocolate. 3) It really does have notes of rich, baked berry pie, and I enjoy pondering how and why. Maniac Coffee has excellent service. I learned about them through The Black Drop Coffeehouse in Bellingham and originally bought Raven's Eye there, then realized it could be sent to me in Seattle. I order by Sunday and it arrives no later than Friday, sometimes even earlier. I really appreciate the compostable bag; that seems pretty rare in the industry. I'm also glad to have $1 of each order go to the Whatcom Humane Society.
I have tried many dark roasts in my time, and this outshines them all. It is rich and chocolatey and has a robust flavor even a bunch of cream can't drown out. So good! The fact that proceeds go to the Humane Society is just whipped cream on top ;)
We’ve been Maniac coffee fans now for several years. Sometimes we’d get it at the Black Drop, sometimes the Co-Op and sometimes directly from Alex at the roastery. Word spread during Covid that Alex did home delivery and pretty soon all our friends became Maniac fans. We’ve tried most but must admit that Raven’s Eye is our current favorite.
