Cobra Kai
SWEEP THE LEG! Okay, not really. While this is certainly a bad-ass coffee, drinking it does not make you the bad guy. We pretty much make a second career out of perfecting our crane kick. All kidding aside, this is a tasty blend of CO-lombia and BRA-zil coffees (‘CO-BRA’, Get it?). Expect all the big, bold, buttery body you'd normally get from South American coffees, but despite the medium roast, the acid is low and has a nutty, cherry cola sweetness.

I used to always order Bellinghamster along with one or two single origins coffees. But I found another favorite… Cobra Kai. So now I order Bellinghamster, AND Cobra Kai, and one or two single origin beans. I enjoy the subtle and not-so-subtle differences between every single kind of coffee we get. Also, I have to add that I really liked the free delivery we had prior to the pandemic surprise. Now we pay a couple bucks more than free, and I feel like we’re still getting the best shipping costs ever to have fresh roasted coffee delivered in one pound (!) bags to our door. Maniac mornings make my day.
Cobra Kai is the blend we have been drinking every morning for the past 3 years when we discovered this amazing coffee at Manic Coffee Roasting. It’s a personal preference, but we do like a coffee that is full-bodied and announces itself with a touch of buttery richness on the tongue. In other words, it’s a robust cup of coffee for a medium roast blend. That said, that robust presence in the mouth doesn’t overwhelm its more subtle flavors. There’s a solid layer of nutty cherry essence in there, which also earns this coffee some bonus points from us. Again, a personal preference. In short, we love this coffee. It’s not hard to find a strong, full-bodied coffee. And it’s easy to find more delicate brews that deliver on a more fruit or nutty note. What’s much harder to find is a coffee that delivers it all, in one balanced package. So yes, we’re fans. We love this coffee.
Every single coffee made by Maniac is the best I've ever had, and this is no exception. This is a good roast if you like your coffee medium in intensity - it's not too dark, not to light, just the right sort of coffee for pleasant mornings sipping and reading.
